Kate and Jason's wedding was held in Athens, Ohio i.e. the greatest place on Earth! I heard this statement over and over that day and I agree completely. I am an Ohio University grad and it was so special to shoot a wedding in Athens. Kate and Jason are alumni and the whole day had that laid back, beautiful, hanging with friends, Athens feel about it. The bridal party got ready at the OU Inn and then traveled to Galbreath Chapel for a sweet, intimate ceremony. We all had a great time running around Athens photographing the wedding party after the ceremony. A highlight for everyone came when we stopped at Mill Street (where Kate and Jason had lived as neighbors) to find an afternoon party going on with beer, flip cup, music and fun. It was absolutely the perfect thing to happen... as anyone that attended OU knows. And, it's not everyday that the groom and his groomsmen get to shotgun beers with college kids!
Kate and Jason are so sweet together and are absolutely perfect for one another. The couple left no detail of their wedding day unattended; from providing vintage handkerchiefs at the ceremony for happy tears to displaying picture of family members that were no longer with them. The style was shabby chic and the burlap, lace, weathered objects, and the personal mason jars for libations were all just perfect.
Cheers to you Kate and Jason and thank you for choosing me as your photographer at your beautiful wedding in Athens, Ohio. I wish nothing but happiness and lots of "OU! Oh Yeah!" for years to come.
*a special thank you goes out to my second shooter, the talented Jessie Huck Parks of
